You will need to upload supporting documentation (your Core (Level 1) EMDR Child & Adolescent Training certificate and a certificate confirming completion of the entirety of the Generic (Standard) EMDR Training with a Europe Accredited EMDR Trainer.
Whilst it is recommended by the EMDR Association UK to wait for 4 – 6 months between the level 1 (CORE) EMDR Child & Adolescent Training and the Level 2 (ADVANCED) EMDR Child & Adolescent Training to help consolidate learning, we have come to realise that some therapists who work predominately with either neurodiverse young people, grooming & exploitation or looked after children may need the level 2 (ADVANCED) EMDR Child & Adolescent Training much sooner than this. Providing you can confirm meeting the criteria below and providing you are in regular supervision with an EMDR Consultant overseeing your clinical practise (or have booked onto the bolt-on group Child & Adolescent Consultation with us), we are able to waive this criteria.
You will need to attest that :
- You have an eligible mental health qualification (which would have been required in order to attend a Europe Accredited Generic EMDR Training)
- You have completed ALL PARTS of an EMDR Generic (Standard) training
- You have completed a Core (Level 1) Europe Accredited EMDR Child & Adolescent Training delivered by a Europe Accredited EMDR Child & Adolescent Trainer
- You have an active caseload which includes access to children & young people under the age of 18
- You have delivered EMDR with a minimum of 3 children or young people under the age of 18 since attending your Core (Level 1) EMDR Child & Adolescent Training – and delivered at least 1 developmental modification suitable for. a child aged 8 or under (such as, for example, a narrative or drawing between EMDR sets)
- You are in regular EMDR Consultation / Supervision with an accredited EMDR Consultant who is able to supervise your child / adolescent cases (or are in the process of setting this up)
- You will not record any part of the training (due to clinically sensitive material being shown)
- You will attend the entirety of the training
