How are you paying for supervision?

  • For the purpose of this document, consultees will be referred to as ‘supervisees’ and consultation referred to as ‘supervision’.
  • To avoid confusion around dates / times of supervision / consultation, sessions must be booked by the supervisee or a member of the supervisee’s organisational team (I.e. team lead or procurement etc).   The person doing the booking will need to create a account on our site.  This enables them to go into their own bookings to check dates / times and if necessary, reschedule these.
  • If your employer is funding your supervision – please note that we now require payment in advance.  This has unfortunately had to be instigated following some NHS trusts booking supervisions but then not paying for them.
  • In rare situations (I.e. complex multiple bookings of different time durations for NHS Trusts with multiple teams needing supervision) we may be able to book these on your behalf, providing supervision has been pre-purchased and we have received payment.   In such cases, we will email you a copy of the dates and will require you to confirm receipt of this email.  By confirming receipt of the email, you confirm the dates and times of bookings we have made on your behalf.
  • Please ensure that we have the name and email / phone number of attendees.  If the appointment details given are that of a procurement officer, no responsibility is taken for supervisees not being aware of supervision sessions booked on their behalf by their organisations.
  • Online supervision sessions use Zoom.  The same secure Zoom link is always used : https://us06web.zoom.us/j/5962918262?pwd=bEhMYlFENzRmUXJEdGZEdVBzNkM4dz09  Meeting ID :  596 2918262  Password : 586 146
  • When joining a Zoom meeting, please ensure you have your correct name – as for security purposes, we have the waiting room enabled.
  • If your NHS Trust / Organisation requires you to use TEAMS – you will be expected to set this up and send a joining link directly to Susan at: susan@childtraumatherapycentre.com This is because otherwise, TEAMS can log off supervisees from their own organisations, causing technological issues re-connecting to the Trust / Organisation for them, after supervision.
  • If an attendee does not turn up within 20 minutes of the planned supervision session, the session will be closed, unless prior notice relating to attendees needing to turn up late has been sent (i.e. urgent therapy case meetings or traffic etc).
  • Attendance at consultation is expected unless cancelled or rescheduled within 42 hours prior to the appointment.   Rescheduling or cancelling should be done by the person attending via the website (log in; enter your account and go to ‘bookings’ – you should be able to amend, reschedule or cancel a booking from there).
  • If the attendee is using coupon codes to book for pre-paid supervision, it is recommended to reschedule these, rather than cancelling (as otherwise applied vouchers will be lost.
  • If supervisees fail to attend a planned supervision session, the session cannot not be rescheduled or the time reallocated to a different team within the same organisation after the event.
  • Where supervision sessions have to be rescheduled by the supervisor due to illness or for other reasons, as much time as possible will be given for rescheduling such sessions.
  • We pride ourselves in encouraging our supervisees and take a view of ‘learning opportunities’ (rather than mistakes) when therapy does not always go according to plan.  Attendees taking part in group supervision are expected to be respectful and compassionate to create a positive and considerate learning environment.
  • Whilst we do not guarantee being able to meet every supervisee’s needs, where an accommodation for any physical, learning, or emotional challenges are required, please email us in advance of the supervision.  Attendees may not record any part of the supervision without permission.
  1. Accreditation with BABCP and EMDR Europe is a competency based process.  If you are seeking accreditation for either BABCP (CBT) or EMDR  (UK; All-Ireland; Europe; EMDRIA or any other reciprocating member association), we require clinical videos in order to verify competence in either model.  More in-depth information can be found on the therapy organisation’s website (see below).
  2. We would ask that due to GDPR, no videos are sent directly to us but are shared online during a confidential supervision session, using the shared function of either TEAMS or Zoom.  Where supervision is in person, videos can be brought on encrypted memory sticks or laptops to be shared.
  3. The video requirements for CBT Psychotherapy accreditation with BABCP are 3 completed videos with a client in which CTS-R has been completed to a satisfactory level.

The video requirements for EMDR UK; EMDR All-Ireland; EMDR Europe are

Practitioner accreditation: 1 video (minimum) of the adult protocol

Child & Adolescent accreditation:  2 videos (one under 8 and one over 8)

Consultant accreditation: 1 video of providing EMDR to a client; 1 of providing group supervision (3 or more attendees); 1 of individual supervision

  1. If your country / national association does not have an accreditation pathway and is an EMDR Europe organisation member, please follow the EMDR Europe accreditation pathway.   We would suggest that if you are exploring accreditation, please download the relevant accreditation forms in advance and begin capturing cases on the forms as you raise them in supervision.
  2. If you are a past supervisee of Child Trauma Therapy Centre who was employer-funded, requests for a written letter confirming cases brought to supervision for the purposes of accreditation can  only be provided on the understanding that the organisation / trust funding does not have any outstanding invoices which remain unpaid.  Providing all payments are current, please email requesting a letter with the dates and initials of the supervision sessions you are wanting to include in your accreditation documentation along with the dates you were supervised.  We aim to respond to all such requests within 14 days.
