What are TheraTappers™?
TheraTappers™ are an Alternating Bilateral Tactile Stimulation (ABLS) device for EMDR Therapy. It gives therapists an alternative to physically tapping on clients. It’s a benefit to both client and therapist. Especially when…
- a client prefers not to be touched
- a client has ocular health problems and cannot follow eye movements
- a client is counter-indicated for a light bar (like clients with certain forms of epilepsy)
- a client prefers to process with eyes closed
- a client prefers a tactile sensation over other forms of ABLS
- a therapist has repetitive strain injuries and cannot wave their arm back and forth for eye movements
- a therapist works with client who should not be touched by a therapist
- a therapist prefers to offer clients a range of ABLS options

As an Europe Accredited EMDR Child & Adolescent therapist and trainer, I’ve spent many years looking at various forms of ABLS devices. The only two devices that I regularly use are Theratappers™ and bone-conducting earphones (for hearing impaired clients). After trying pretty much every EMDR device on the market I repeatedly return to Theratappers™ for 4 very simple reasons:
- My first set is still working after 12 years – other devices, in my experience, don’t last as long.
- I’ve never had a client abreact from a Theratapper™- but they do with other devices.
- I’ve never lost a pulse with a Theratapper™- other wired and wireless devices are not always as reliable.

Theratapper™ is a device specifically designed and made for use by trained EMDR Therapists to deliver EMDR to their clients.
By purchasing a Theratapper™ from us, you are confirming that you have been trained in EMDR by an Accredited EMDR Trainer who has been accredited by their National EMDR Association and approved by the Standards Committee in their Country (or Continent).
Please note : we do not sell Theratapper™ for personal use or to non-EMDR-trained therapists.
