What does the term ABLS stand for?

Alternate Bifunctional Lateral Stimulation

Adaptive Bilocated Stimulation

Alternate Bilateral Stimulation

When resourcing or installing a safe place, the form of ABLS (BLS) must be:

As fast as the client can tolerate / manage and usually at least 30 + sets

As fast as the therapist's arm or device can go

As slow as the therapist's arm or device can go and usually at least 10 sets

Slow enough to evoke a calm state and sufficient sets to achieve this, at the pace the child can tolerate
