Attendance and Cancellation Policy
Attendance at CTTC Trainings & Masterclasses
100% attendance at our EMDR Europe Accredited Child & Adolescent Trainings is a requirement set by the EMDR Europe Association. This is because these trainings are accredited and therefore mandate a 100% attendance, regardless of whether this is an online or face to face live training. If you cannot attend the training in full due to personal circumstances or work commitments, please contact us at least 1 week in advance of the training start dates. We may suggest you transfer to a different training date or in some cases.
We will ask you to leave your camera on, if you are attending a live online virtual training. This is so that we can, in good conscious, report that you had 100% attendance. If you do need to turn your camera off or be away from your camera for any reason, please let us know. You can tell us in advance or using the chat function during the training. Such reasons must be reasonable (i.e. tending to a child or a health issue).
If you are not visible online or leave the training at any point without prior consent, we have the right to refuse entry to the remainder of the training. This is because
- it is disruptive to the rest of the group
- the information will potentially not make sense if you have missed an important part of the training
- we cannot guarantee that you have attended the training in full, in accordance with our attendance requirements to meet the criteria of an EMDR Europe Accredited training.
Where someone leaves the group due to technical issues, we of course understand that this can happen and will endeavour to work with you and help you fill in any aspects you may have missed.
You must NOT tape any of the material on any training without advance permission. This is because clinical material of children on video is shared as part of the training.
We ask that every attendee is respectful of one another and that each attendee acts in a compassionate and kind way towards their colleagues during the training. This helps to create a positive and considerate learning environment.
Where attendees have any physical, learning or emotional challenges, we ask that they make us aware of these needs in advance of the training – to ensure we are able to meet every attendee’s needs to the best of our ability. We pride ourselves in meeting the needs of different learning styles and needs, including neurodiverse, dyslexic, sight and hearing impaired attendees. If you need us to do something differently, we would like the opportunity to try and meet your unique learning needs. Please email us in advance of the training to make us aware of any needs you may have.
Finally, we reserve the right to refuse to accept anyone onto the training, if we feel they may jeopardise the quality of the training or the sense of safety we wish to ensure for participants to feel able to feel safe and able to ask questions of the trainer as part of their training experience.
Cancellations / Change of dates for CTTC Trainings & Masterclasses
- Requests to change attendance to a different training course made more than 3 weeks (22 days) or more prior to the start date of a training will be rescheduled to an alternative (preferred) date (providing availability on those dates) at no additional charge or a coupon code issued for later booking.
- Requests to change attendance to a different training course within 3 weeks (21 days) or less of the start date of a training will be rescheduled to an alternative (preferred) date (providing availability on those dates), subject to an administrative fee of £33.00 (excluding VAT – £39.60 inclusive of VAT).
- Cancellations made more than 6 weeks prior to a training will be refunded in full.
- Cancellations made more than 3 weeks (22 days) but less than 6 full weeks prior to a training will be 75% refunded.
- Cancellations made 3 weeks (21 days) or less prior to a training will not be refunded.
Exceptions for serious family emergencies, unexpected crisis and ill health impacting on attendance will offered on a case by case basis at the discretion of the Child Trauma Therapy Centre and when ever possible, Child Trauma Therapy Centre will endeavour to move attendees to other trainings.
Please ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria for the training you are planning on attending or that you reasonably believe you will meet the criteria before the start date of the training you are planning on attending. Failure to meet eligibility is not a valid excuse for requesting a refund.
If the Child Trauma Therapy Centre has to cancel an in-person or live online training due to the pandemic, COVID restrictions or other unforeseen situations, a full refund or transfer to an alternative training will be offered.
The Child Trauma Therapy Centre reserves the right to refuse someone entry to the training where
- it is felt that a person’s presence might impact negatively on the group dynamics or the safety within the group or the quality of the training itself
- the attendee has either a) not met the entry criteria for attending the training or b) it is unclear whether an attendee has met the requirements for attending the training, in which case we would defer to a later training date to ensure sufficient time to address this issue
- payment has not been received in advance of the training
- where an attendee has acted in a way during the training which would be against this policy (i.e. filming clinical content or acting in a harmful, discriminatory or threatening way towards others on the training). Should this occur, refunds will not be provided.
Where ever possible, we will work with attendees to help them meet criteria or arrange payment or signpost to an alternative training which may better fit their needs.
